Grade 4 - Electronics and Robotics - Intermediate

This is an introductory course to understand how electronic blocks can be used to create various kinds of circuits. Various components like battery, buzzer, switch, LED, sensors, regulator blocks and their functions are to be understood respectively. The various challenges are provided for the learners to solve, providing them with hands-on experience in making the circuits. In several experiments, the project/ applications are created by just attaching the blocks to each other.

How is this course an extended version of that present in grade 4?

  • A deeper introduction to electronic components is done with their functions to be understood and learnt by the learners.
  • Kindly note dimmer/ regulator and pump are introduced in this grade.
  • The changes will be evident when it comes to reflecting/ observing/discussing/ critical thinking questions throughout the course as well as in the capstone projects (in the final sessions).
  • The difficulty level in the Capstone project is increased by incorporating the observation and conclusion to be jotted down by the learners making it a little extensive.

Learners have the freedom to create projects/ applications using household articles/ stationary/ waste materials/ other extra components present in the kit thereby helping them innovate.

The teacher needs to show each presentation on full screen as some of the slides can be animated too.

Grade 4 - Product design & 3D Printing

We see the world in 3D; almost all products that we use each day are 3-dimensional. Learning how to think in 3D and design 3D objects is essential for spatial intelligence in students. In this course, students will be introduced to basic 2D and 3D geometry and learn how to build 3D shapes and features on CAD software. They will learn about tools to create objects such as Dice and Airship.

Grade 4 - Design Challenges

The design thinking strategy is an innovative technique to bring out creative ideas in students and instil problem-solving skills. Young students often have creative ideas, which often seem crazy and impossible. In this course, students will think about everyday problems and develop creative solutions.
